Mobile-Friendly Website

Are you reading this on your cell phone right now? On your iPhone? Samsung? You most likely are.
It's quite amazing how much technology has evolved over the years. I remember my dad owning a cell phone for the first time in the year 2000. My sister and I were so intrigued with this piece of technology, and internet wasn't even part of a cell phone yet. Now, it's a normal part of our life to surf on the internet all day on our cell phones. Businesses have changed their marketing strategies due to this technological advancement.

As I was reading The New Rules of Marketing & PR by David Meerman Scott, Scott emphasizes how important it is for businesses to be up to date with their website by making them mobile-friendly.
This information is important for me since I want to make sure everyone can see my blog and my website when they are on their cell phones. Which, let's be honest, it's most likely that people are looking at my blog and website more or as much on their cell phones than on a computer/desktop/laptop.

I want to share with you 3 important things, according to Scott, that can help your business/personal website:

1. Make sure your website is mobile compliant. You need the pages to load properly in mobile devices.
2. Create a mobile site map so the search engines can index your pages for mobile browsers.
3. Use few words and small graphics. People don't read much on mobiles and they want the data to come quickly.

Use these 3 points as a checklist to help make your website BETTER.

I hope this post encourages you to make your website mobile-friendly or check that you are using a platform that has free templates (I use weebly.com) to help you have a mobile-friendly site.

Xo,
Stacy.
